Lucknow: Unnao's district malaria officer, Ramesh Chandra Yadav, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 by the vigilance establishment. A biologist in the filariasis control unit, KK Gupta, filed a complaint against Yadav, accusing him of asking for the bribe in exchange for approving sick leave. Following Gupta's report, the senior superintendent of police and the UP vigilance establishment confirmed Yadav's misconduct. Yadav was apprehended at the district malaria office in Unnao after taking the money from Gupta. The Rs 10,000 was recovered by the vigilance team, and a case against Yadav has been registered at the UP vigilance station in Lucknow.
